Abstract: La indignación moral, la vergüenza de las identidades colectivas en mal estado, o la alegría de imaginar una sociedad nueva y mejor, no son respuestas automáticas a los eventos. Más bien, están relacionados con instituciones morales, obligaciones y derechos sentidos, e información sobre los efectos esperados, todos los cuales son cultural e históricamente variables. Con su análisis de la historia de las emociones en el pensamiento social, el examen de las dinámicas internas de los grupos de protesta y la exploración de las dinámicas emocionales que surgen de las interacciones y conflictos entre facciones políticas e individuos, la política apasionada abrirá el camino hacia una reconsideración atrasada de El papel de las emociones en los movimientos sociales y la política en general.
